Ogham

Ogham is an early medieval alphabet dating back to about the 4th Century, it was mainly used to write the early Irish language, It is also known as the Celtic Tree Alphabet.

Ogham is written from vertically from bottom to top and each of the letters is represented by a mark along a vertical central line.

The alphabet is considered one of the earliest forms of writing, it can still be found throughout Ireland and Britain today but not many examples remain, roughly about 400 remain, and they can be found on standing stones and wood carvings. Most of these inscriptions are personal names
